Air New Zealand launches interactive online experience

Air New Zealand has launched an interactive online experience which provides emoji travel tips to visitors, allowing them to explore the best attractions New Zealand has to offer.

To get involved users will be asked to comment on Air New Zealand #EmojiJourney Facebook or Twitter posts with a combination of emojis which would best describe their perfect New Zealand getaway. From the series of Emojis, an automatic link will be generated which highlights points likely to be of interest on a personalised map.

Using the interactive map, people will be able to learn more information about each destination or activities on offer. The emoji map covers a variety of choices including food and beverage hotspots, shopping, art and culture, adventure pursuits and things to do in the outdoors all around the country.

Air New Zealand General Manager Global Brand and Content Marketing Jodi Williams says “This is a fun and unique way to showcase New Zealand and our regions, from skiing at Ruapehu, rafting in Rotorua, or whale watching in Kaikoura, to the iconic Len Lye Centre in New Plymouth.”

“Our airline is committed to enhancing the customer experience and leading the way when it comes to innovation. #EmojiJourney will be progressively launched in our global markets in English, Japanese, German and Chinese and we hope this new experience will not only inspire visitors to travel to New Zealand but will also get Kiwis out exploring their own backyard,” says Ms Williams.

To receive your own personalised map get involved in the #EmojiJourney on Air New Zealand’s social channels to discover what New Zealand has to offer that meets your desires.
